  • DHCL and You

 

Dream House Competitions Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 13084814 and whose registered address is 1 Southfield Road, Hoddesdon, England, EN11 9EA (“DHCL”).

 

When we refer to “DHCL”, “We”, “Us” or “Our”, we mean Dream House Competitions Limited. Where we refer to the “Individual”, the “Participant”, “You” or “Your” we mean you, the person accessing the Site and/or entering any competitions held by DHCL.

 

  • The Competition

 

  1. These terms and conditions apply to all competitions listed on DHCL’s website at http://www.dreamhousecompetitions.com (the “Website”).
  2. It is DHCL’s position that all competitions are skill-based competitions. To have a chance of winning, everyone who enters the competition You will be required to correctly answer a question set by DHCL (the “Competition Question”).
  3. The competition will run from and including the opening and closing dates specified on the Website. These dates shall be referred to as the “Opening Date” and “Closing Date” respectively. All times and dates referred to are the times and dates in London, England.
  4. DHCL reserves the right to change the Opening Date and the Closing Date at any time. If DHCL does change the Opening Date and/or the Closing Date of a competition, the new details will be displayed on the Website.
  5. If a competition has not sold all the available tickets by the originally specified Closing Date the winner shall instead receive 50% of the ticket sales made from that individual competition only. Dream House Competitions reserves the right to present the winner a prize of a value greater than 50% of the ticket sales at our soul discretion.
  6. All competition entries must be received by DHCL by no later than the specified time on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the specified time on the Closing Date may be disqualified without a refund.
  7. A competition shall automatically close when there are no more available tickets.

 

  • Eligibility 

 

  1. DHCL competitions are only open to residents of the United Kingdom over the age of 18. 
  2. By entering into a competition, You warrant that all information submitted is true, accurate and complete (including that You are over 18 years of age).
  3. DHCL may require You to provide evidence of eligibility at any time, including following the completion of a competition. If evidence is not provided or the evidence that is provided is not valid, legible, or does not meet the reasonable satisfaction of DHCL, DHCL may disqualify the Participant without a refund. 
  4. DHCL will not accept entries that are automatically generated by a computer or incomplete. 
  5. DHCL reserves the right to disqualify any Individual, without refund, if the conduct of that Individual is contrary to the spirit or intention of the competition. 

 

  • Entry

 

  1. In answering the Competition Question, the Participant recognises that they must exercise skill, knowledge and judgement to answer correctly and enter the competition.
  2. Maximum entries per Participant vary for each individual competition. Maximum entries per Participant shall be stated on the Website.
  3. All entries must be submitted in the English language. Entries in languages other than English will automatically be disqualified and no refund will be given.
  4. DHCL will send confirmation that the Participant’s entry has been received, and the Participant’s allocated ticket number(s).
  5. All entries are final, and no refunds shall be made at any time or for any reason, except in the case DHCL cancels the competition. 

 

  • Free Entry 

 

  1. To enter by free entry, the Participant must first have created a free account on the Website.
  2. The free entry must be by post. The Participant must send one entry on a postcard or letter by first class post to DHCL at the following address (the “Postal Entry”):

  1. Each Postal Entry must include the following information:
    1. the competition details for one competition only;
    2. the correct answer to the Competition Question; and
    3. the Participants name, address, date of birth, contact telephone number and email address, all details must match the details used by the Participant to create their free account on the Website.
  2. An incomplete or illegible Postal Entry shall be disqualified and discarded without notification. 
  3. A Postal Entry that is received by DHCL after an individual competition has no more available tickets shall be discarded; however, notification shall be given to the Participant as to the reason the Postal Entry was discarded. 
  4. Postal Entries are limited to one per Participant per competition. 
  5. Postal Entries must be received by DHCL by 4pm on the day before the Closing Date.
  6. Providing the Postal Entry meets all requirements listed above and is received on time by DHCL, DHCL shall then issue to the Participant a discount code by email. The Participant must use this discount code on the Website to receive a free ticket. Once the discount code is sent by DHCL, it is the sole responsibility of the Participant to use it. The discount code must be used before the Closing Date and while there are still available tickets, if not used, the discount code shall become invalid.
  • The Draw

 

  1. All Participants who successfully enter a competition under the rules set out in these terms and conditions will be placed into a draw (the “Draw”) and a winner shall be randomly selected (the “Winner”).
  2. The Draw shall take place as soon as reasonably possible, subject to any provisions set out in clause 2 above. 
  3. The Winner shall be notified as soon as reasonably possible after the Draw has taken place. DHCL shall reasonably endeavour to contact the Winner by phone or email for 14 days starting from the day after the Draw takes place. 
  4. If the Winner cannot be contacted after 14 days, then DHCL reserves the right to randomly select an alternative winner by placing all Participants, excluding the original Winner, into a second Draw (the “Alternative Winner”). If the Alternative Winner cannot be contacted under the same terms and conditions set out in this clause 6 then a third Draw shall be made, and so on, until an eventual winner is contacted. 

 

  • The Prize 

 

  1. Details of all prizes are described on the Website and are to the best of DHCL’s knowledge, information and belief at the time of the Opening Date.
  2. Winners may choose a cash alternative instead of the prize offered. The cash value of any prize shall be determined at the sole discretion of DHCL. 
  3. DHCL makes no representations and gives no warranties about, including but not limited to, the value or condition of any prizes or about the accuracy of any information provided on the Website. No warranties or representations shall be implied. 
  4. DHCL reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value at any time. Value shall be determined at the sole discretion of DHCL. If any prize is substituted, DHCL will reasonably endeavour to update the Website as soon as reasonably possible.

 

  • Claiming the Prize 

 

  1. The Winner agrees to allow DHCL to display his or her name and town on the Website. 
  2. The Winner may be required to participate in publicity related to the competition which may include the publication of their name and photograph and/or video in any media.
  3. All prizes shall be delivered personally by DHCL to the Winner. The Winner may ask to collect their prize from DHCL’s registered address instead.

 

  • Limitation of Liability

 

  1. Subject to clause 10(b) below, DHCL accepts no responsibility or liability and shall not be responsible or liable for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by any Participant as a result of entering any competition or winning, accepting or using any prize. 
  2. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude or limit the liability of DHCL for any death, personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation suffered as a result of negligence on the part of DHCL. 
  3. DHCL shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where such failure is caused by something outside of DHCL’s reasonable control including, but without limitation, any inclement weather, pandemic, epidemic, fire, flood, hurricane, act of terrorism, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion or any government legislation.
  4. DHCL accepts no liability for errors or omissions contained with the prize details, description or specification or any other part of the Website. It is the responsibility of each Participant to satisfy himself/herself as to the accuracy of any such details and/or any content of the Website. 

 

  • Data Protection and Privacy 

 

  1. Personal data supplied during the course of an entry may be passed on to third party suppliers only insofar as required for fulfilment and delivery of the prize or in accordance to any law for the purposes of prevention of fraud, money laundering or any other legal, financial or regulatory reasons. 
  2. By entering into a competition, Participants consent to their name appearing on DHCL’s Facebook, twitter, Instagram and Snapchat feeds and related media content.
  3. Participants authorise DHCL to enter their personal details into a database and to use the information in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998. 

 

  • General 

 

  1. By entering a competition, the Participant is deemed to have read and accepted these terms and conditions and agrees to be bound by them. 
  2. DHCL may declare any entry void at any time without refund if any Participant or Winner is found to have engaged in:
    1. any form of fraud (actual or apparent);
    2. misrepresentation; 
    3. concealment;
    4. hacking or interference with the Website; or
    5. amending or unauthorised use of any code that constitutes the Website. 
  3. DHCL reserves the right at any time to modify, amend or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, any competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside of the control of DHCL.
  4. The competition will be governed by English law and Participants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
